DRAMA LOOKS GOOD ON US. 2026

Drama Looks Good on Us is a series of contemporary figurative paintings by Noemi Safir, created in 2026, exploring the emotional complexity of closeness between women and the roll we take as mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, lovers and caregivers.

In these original paintings, intimacy, dependency, pressure, tenderness and performance exist at the same time. The female body becomes a place where relationships are negotiated. The figures lean, listen, press, hold and adjust to one another. What first appears soft, stylish, or intimate often carries a deeper emotional weight, the tension between wanting connection and needing space.
